Job Title: Behavioral Health • LVN/LPN • Mids
Join our client's team as a Behavioral Health LVN/LPN for mid•shifts. This role requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in the licensed professional role you are applying for. For instance, an LVN who has just completed RN school must have 2+ years of experience as an RN when applying for that position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Providing care, treatment, and general welfare of patients.
• Supervising the work of others.
• Performing basic and complex nursing tasks to fulfill the health needs of the most medically fragile individuals.
• Assisting the RN Supervisor with on•the•job Nursing instruction and training of other new LVN's.
• Assisting the Infection Control nurse by implementing measures that prevent the spread of disease.
• Assisting the QA Nurse in developing and implementing quality assurance programs.
• Assisting in the implementation of therapeutic nursing programs.
Requirements:
• Active Texas LPN/LVN Licensure.
• AHA BLS Certification.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a facility setting for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities.
• Competency in advanced skills such as gastrostomy tubes/enteral feedings, Foley catheters, tracheostomies, etc.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Compliance with HHSC immunization requirements.
• Submission to HHSC required drug test and fingerprinting.
• Completion of facility and HHSC required training.
• COVID•19 vaccination.
Additional Information:
• The contract length is 26 weeks with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Shifts are from 2 pm • 10 pm, 5 days a week.
• Agency nurses may be pulled first if there’s a need to pull to another unit.
• Every other weekend is required.
• The location is in Lubbock, Texas.
• Onsite parking is available.
• The EMR used is Iris/Cerner.
Please note that the orientation dates are on the 1st and 16th business day of the month from 8:00 am•5:00 pm. The orientation lasts for 6 weeks, including 2 weeks of nursing training, followed by 2 weeks with a preceptor.
