Job description
MRI Tech – magnetic resonance imaging – (no radiation – magnetic)
MRI scanners using sophisticated magnetic fields and powerful radio frequencies. Because they are considered relatively non-invasive, MRI scans are often the preferred technological procedure. In particular, MRIs are used for imaging the human brain, spinal cord, nerves, muscles, ligaments, and tendons.
Why get an MRI?
MRI provides better soft tissue contrast than CT and can differentiate better between fat, water, muscle, and other soft tissue than CT (CT is usually better at imaging bones).
