Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse • Day Shift
Job Description:
As an Operating Room Registered Nurse, your role involves delivering patient care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, maintaining professional nursing standards, and effectively using the nursing process.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee patient care delivery in the operating room.
• Collaborate with nursing colleagues, ancillary & medical staff.
• Supervise Scrub technologists, CNA’s, Anesthesia techs.
• Evaluate patient’s physical, psychosocial, and educational needs.
• Document patient/family responses to nursing interventions.
• Develop and implement patient’s plan of care, including the discharge plan.
• Direct patient care activities for all age groups, utilizing clinical/critical thinking skills.
• Provide guidance to Licensed Practical Nurse and Nurse Assistant.
• Facilitate learning opportunities to meet the educational needs of patient/family.
• Communicate pertinent patient changes/conditions to colleagues and caregivers.
• Participate in departmental/organizational meetings and educational opportunities.
• Serve as a steward for resources and support technology and process changes.
• Take action to solve problems and support process improvement teams.
• Document patient information in the electronic/paper medical record accurately and timely.
• Delegate/supervise appropriately based on patient needs and the scope of practice.
• Maintain department confidentiality and abide by HIPPA regulations.
• Provide competent patient care to all patient populations.
• Enhance ability to carry out job functions through personal and professional/job•related growth and development.
• Support and abide by all policies and procedures and identify safety concerns.
Additional Functions:
• Participate on shared governance councils, department/housewide committees/work teams as requested.
